Pick the right route
- A story, a document or a pointer — use the tip form. This is the queue the desk reads first, and it is confidential.
- Something we got wrong — use the corrections form. Include the story link and a source we can check.
- An attribution or licensing query — if you are the publisher of a story we rewrote and you want to discuss credit, removal or how we linked to you, send it through the form below and include the story link. We credit every source by name and link out; we will correct a wrong attribution immediately.
- A publisher who wants to be on the wire — tell us who you are and link to your work. We look for publishers with consistent, dated, attributable reporting.
- Moderation appeal — if a comment or post of yours was removed and you believe it should not have been, quote the content and say where you posted it. A moderator who did not make the original decision will review it.
- Account problems — sign-in issues, a handle you want changed, or a profile you want removed. Write from the email address on the account.
Where we cannot help
We cannot provide legal, medical, financial or immigration advice, and we cannot verify a document for you or act as a finder for another publication's archive. We do not sell coverage, guest posts or links, and we do not remove accurate reporting because a subject dislikes it.
What we do with your message
Messages go into the newsroom queue and are not published. We keep them only as long as needed to handle the request, in line with the privacy note. We never publish a tipster's identity without explicit permission.
