What we actually do
We run a feed called the Apex Wire. It watches a set of publishers — newswires, regulators, exchange notices and specialist outlets — for material that is public and worth a second read on its own. An editor then decides whether the item can be rewritten without guesswork. If it can, we write a new account of it: a new headline, a standfirst, a structured body, a “why it matters” line and a set of extracted key facts. If it cannot be rewritten without adding facts the source did not publish, it is blocked and never appears.
Waconzy News does not employ reporters and does not produce original reporting. We do not claim to. We are a rewrite desk, and the value we add is clarity, structure and context, plus a place to discuss the story.
What that means for you as a reader
- Every story names the outlet that first reported it, and links back to that outlet.
- Every story carries an originality score, so you can see how much of the wording is ours.
- We never present the source's headline or summary as our own text.
- We never take credit for reporting we did not do, because we did not do it.
How the desk is organised
The desk is the byline you will see on every story: Waconzy News Desk. There are no personal bylines because there are no individual reporters. Stories are assigned to a desk by subject — Macro, Government, Sovereignty, Frontier Tech, Culture and Health — and the desk name is part of the credit, not a person's identity.
Alongside the desks sits the Insider Watch table, which handles SEC insider filings and congressional trade disclosures. Those are factual, dated documents; we rewrite the filing, name the filer and link to it. Nothing in that desk is investment advice.
Who is allowed to publish
Only readers with an Editor, Moderator or Admin role can see the newsroom console. Reviewers see our rewrite next to the source headline, the originality score and the full attribution before approving a story. Raw wire items, items still being composed, duplicates and blocked stories are never visible on the public site.
Sources we work from
Recent published stories have been rewritten from 29 credited sources, including Manila Times, Investing.com, The Hill, Breitbart, WSJ, SEC, EHN, CNBC.
What we are not
- We are not a primary source. Cite the original outlet, not us, when the fact matters.
- We are not an investment, legal or medical adviser. Our Insider Watch desk reports documents, not recommendations.
- We do not accept payment to publish a story, and we do not run sponsored or advertorial pieces.
- We do not publish leaked personal data, private medical information or anything that puts a person at risk.
Community
Signed-in readers can react to stories, comment in threads up to three levels deep, post takes, questions and threads in rooms, follow desks, entities, sources and other readers, and save stories to a reading list. Moderation follows the rules on the editorial standards page. Karma is awarded only for reactions a reader actually receives.
